Viant Launches Free Publisher Tools Focused on Supply Quality

Viant expands Publisher Solutions with SupplyIQ dashboard and tools focused on supply quality, transparency, and publisher monetization.
Viant has launched SupplyIQ and expanded its Publisher Solutions suite to help publishers improve transparency, addressability, and monetization.

Viant is a generous DSP.

Today, the company announced an expansion of its Publisher Solutions offering, with a new set of tools aimed at improving transparency, addressability, and monetization for publishers. The launch includes SupplyIQ, a dashboard that gives publishers visibility into how their inventory is evaluated within Viant, alongside capabilities focused on supply path optimization, identity, and content-level signals.

The company says the enhancements can help advertisers access higher-quality inventory while giving publishers more insight into the factors that influence demand and spend. Viant is making the tools available to publisher partners at no additional cost. (Free!)

Why This Matters:

Inventory quality, SPO, and transparency remain key issues for programmatic (shocked, are you?). Advertisers continue to push for more visibility into where their dollars are going, while publishers want a clearer understanding of how their inventory is being evaluated and monetized by buying platforms.

The launch also feels notable because it leans into themes often associated with another DSP, The Trade Desk. Consider this line from the release: “This incentive structure continuously raises the quality and transparency of supply across the open internet, ultimately driving stronger performance for buyers and sellers alike.” Feels familiar, though no single DSP owns these concepts, of course.

More broadly, the move reflects how DSPs aren’t just competing for advertiser budgets, but for publisher relationships. As signal quality and supply chain efficiency become bigger differentiators, expect platforms to invest more heavily in tools that help publishers improve the value of their inventory.

Experts React:

Here’s Viant CEO Tim Vanderhook on the launch via LinkedIn:

“Publishers have been sending inventory into DSPs for two decades without ever seeing what happens on the other side. We think that’s a problem worth fixing. So today we launched Viant Publisher Solutions, a free portal that shows publishers how their supply actually shows up inside Viant: which signals are present on their bid requests, where coverage is breaking down, and how we score their inventory. To be clear, we’re not selling anything to publishers. Viant is buy-side only. This is about giving our partners the same view we have.

The reason for doing this is simple. When publishers can’t see the signal gaps in their own supply, they lose demand and never know why. When they can see it, they fix it, and better signal means more of every dollar goes to working media instead of getting lost in the plumbing. The industry has spent years arguing about supply paths. We’d rather just open the books since transparency doesn’t cost anything.”

Our Take:

Smart launch by Viant. The upgraded publisher tools could strengthen its position with both sides of the marketplace while putting pressure on competitors to offer similar (free?) visibility.
